Romaine and Ashleigh are the first to say that they found each other during difficult times. But it’s because they understand those dark places that their joy now shines so brightly. Together, they’ve climbed to a place of love, light, and laughter—and their wedding day reflected that perfectly.
The dramatic cliffs of Loch Ard Gorge were their chosen backdrop, the sound of the Southern Ocean crashing below reminding them of the storms they had weathered, while the golden morning sunlight was their symbol of new beginnings. The day began at Rehab 155, a truly beautiful cabin in nearby Gellibrand, where Romaine and her daughters got ready with the most breathtaking autumn light streaming through the windows. Those soft family portraits taken in the early glow are some of my absolute favourites.
From there, we made our way to the Tom and Eva Lookout, booked just for the occasion, where Ashleigh, their sons and their closest family and friends were waiting. As Romaine walked the path in her gown and veil, busloads of tourists stopped to cheer her on—a joyful chorus of well wishes from strangers who couldn’t help but be swept up in the moment.
Under clear blue skies, surrounded by family and friends, Romaine and Ash blended their families together with a sand ceremony—a beautiful reminder that once combined, love and family cannot be separated.
We wrapped the celebrations in nearby Port Campbell, with champagne spraying into the salty air (because what better way to capture joy than with flying bubbles of gold?), before heading to a local restaurant for a relaxed family lunch. A perfect ending to a perfect day.
