Some love stories grow quietly—rooted in shared history, watered with laughter, and blossoming into something beautiful. That’s exactly the kind of love Rachael and Jay share.
These two first met as kids, crossing paths at horse riding competitions, and years later, they reconnected and never looked back. After seven years of love, laughter, parenting, and partnership, Jay proposed in the most perfect way—on horseback, in a golden canola field on their farm at St James, Victoria.
Family is everything to these two, and their wedding day was no different. They kept their morning simple and grounded—sharing breakfast with their little boy before parting ways to get ready. Rachael headed to the Vanity Day Spa in Cobram with her maid of honour, while Jay stayed back with their son and best man, getting everything organised. Their biggest wedding-day tip? Delegate! Having clearly assigned tasks made the day smooth and stress-free.
With a first look planned before the ceremony, Rachael and Jay opted for two photographers (yes, that’s us!) to ensure no moment went unnoticed. That first look with their family’s vintage tractor? Absolutely iconic. So much love, so many smiles.
Formal photos were relaxed and joyful, thanks to having the right people present—and the right plan. Then it was time. In a blooming canola paddock, their maid of honour led Jay’s son down the aisle, riding Rachael’s late grandfather’s horse. Not a dry eye in sight. Rachael followed soon after, walking with her dad and holding a beautiful bouquet from Blossom with Love.
The ceremony was heartfelt and full of sunshine, just as the forecast had promised. Then it was off to the barn—lovingly decorated with DIY touches that reflected the couple’s style and spirit. Inside waited a show-stopping cake by Tegan Custom Cakes and the promise of a celebration to remember.
Their first dance to In Case You Didn’t Know by Brett Young was soft and full of soul—followed quickly by a wild country party, fuelled by Max Ultimate BBQ Experience and filled with dancing, laughter, and the kind of joy that makes your cheeks hurt.
