Boutique and Micro

The Pandemic has changed weddings. A lot. More and more couples are choosing to have micro weddings, with just the very dearest people there to celebrate with.

Michael and Elise are not these people, they have large families and LOTS of friends to invite. But, Pandemic. Borders are still closed, and Michael's family simply couldn't travel from Townsville, so Ipad and live streaming to the rescue, because this couple just couldn't cope with postponing again

Small doesn't mean not beautiful

Michael and Elise chose the gorgeous Nintingbool Vineyard for their wedding, and just because they had to downsize numbers, didn't mean they had to give up their gorgeous location. While weddings are rare here, the owners were more than welcoming, and so excited to bring their dream to life.

The day beforehand, we all gathered together for a rehearsal with the new numbers, and looking at the weather, the difficult decision to relocate the ceremony to the barrel room was made. This beautiful couple met up over a shared love of excel spreadsheets, so they knew that they would only be looking at each other anyway, and the comfort of Elise's grandparents was paramount.

Their beautifully decorated arbour looked amazing against all the barrels, and the cosy room was filled with laughter and love as everyone waited for Elise and her sister to arrive. Of course, Michael tried to pretend not to be nervous, but he wasn't fooling anyone!!

Suddenly, there she was, and as Elise walked in, looking stunning in her Melissa E bridal gown and hair and makeup by Camille, with a gorgeous bouquet by Gardenia Magnifica, the whole room stopped and only this wonderful couple exchanging their vows and starting their life together mattered.

Elise had been worried that she would 'ugly' cry, but apart from a few tears of joy, she was fine! As their celebrant told the story of their two and a half years together, the amazing proposal that Michael planned with the help of her parents, and the future they hoped to build together, there wasn't a dry eye in the house, so no one noticed a few extra tears!

Although the weather hadn't been kind in the morning, the sun did try and shine and the wind started to die down a little, giving the wedding party a chance to enjoy the stunning grounds and in particular, the lake and waterfall, which is what had drawn Michael to Nintingbool originally.

But what about the cake??

One of Michael's favourite parts of the day was the wedding cake, they chose a cupcake tower by The Little Cupcake and the only instructions were for it to be beautiful and fun, well, it certainly was!! After that, came the canape's and expertly cooked Beef Cheeks and Salmon by the resident caterers Alice and Dave.

Michael and Elise have the following advice to anyone planning their own wedding:

Don’t stress! Everything comes together on the day. Trust your family and friends and most importantly your vendors!

We honestly can't thank you enough for choosing us to be a part of this beautiful wedding day and wish you a million years of happily ever after.
