When you already live somewhere beautiful, why go anywhere else?
Kim and Aaron chose to celebrate their wedding right where their love has grown—on their gorgeous family farm, surrounded by rolling paddocks, shady trees, and the helping hands of Aaron’s parents, who not only support them in daily life but were an essential part of bringing their big day to life.
They dreamed of a relaxed, country-style shindig: haybale seating, fairy lights strung between the trees, laughter, dancing, and plenty of space for guests to eat, drink and celebrate in true country style. With the support of the extended family and local connections, every detail came together with love.
From the hand-built arbour in the Emu Paddock (don’t worry, the birds were safely and gently relocated) to the pyramid of round haybales stacked especially for those epic wedding party photos, every touch was personal, thoughtful, and rooted in the land they love.
The morning dawned bright and clear with a breeze just cool enough to keep guests comfortable. This was the kind of day you hope for but can’t plan—sunshine, laughter, and nothing but joy in the air.
Kim and Aaron, being a modern couple with a great sense of humour, added some seriously fun personal touches. The star of the aisle? Their flower man, who danced his heart out and even added confetti poppers to his grand entrance, much to the delight of their guests. Rows of seating were marked with sweet snapshots from throughout the couple’s years together—a walk down memory lane before the real walk down the aisle.
Kim’s choice of green and white for the bridal party couldn’t have been more perfect. The soft tones were stunning against the gardens and trees, and the boys’ white shirts and suspenders added just the right touch of rustic charm.
Once vows were exchanged and kisses sealed, Chris and I wandered the property with them, capturing all the joy, emotion, and just a few cheeky moments with the groomsmen (some things never change!).
As the sun dipped below the horizon, a delicious meal was served by the legends at Golden Roast, the cake was cut, and the fairy lights lit the way for a night of dancing that lasted into the small hours. It was the perfect end to a day full of love, laughter, and new beginnings.
