Love and Community in the Backyard
Sometimes love just refuses to give up. For Lindsey and Taylor, their journey to the altar wasn’t without its obstacles. Porch pirates stole Lindsey’s first wedding dress (yes—SERIOUSLY!) and the replacement dress went missing in the post. To make things even more stressful, their photographer cancelled only two weeks before their wedding day.
But love always finds a way. Lindsey tried on her mother’s wedding gown—and it turned out to be the most perfect fit imaginable, both in style and in meaning. While we couldn’t help with the dress, we could help with the photography. Chris was thrilled to step in, and what unfolded was a wedding day brimming with heart, laughter, and authenticity.
The couple chose a first look to calm their nerves, supported by their mums who were right there with them in that tender moment. Their joy was palpable as they saw each other for the first time and realised—yes, it was really happening.
Their ceremony, crafted and officiated by Marry Me Helly, was deeply moving. With words tailored to their journey and a handfasting ritual that bound not just their hands but their hearts, it was a moment of community, family, and love. Confetti tossed, laughter shared, and Lindsey’s mother’s homemade naked cake served as a sweet symbol of family support.
Of course, the celebration wasn’t complete without traditions—both Aussie and American. The bouquet toss turned competitive (as always), and Lindsey introduced her American bride to the classic Nutbush—because no Aussie wedding is complete without it!
Still, amid the laughter, dancing, and celebrations, there were also quiet moments. Moments where Lindsey and Taylor leaned into each other, unaware Chris was capturing them. That’s the magic we strive for—those in-between moments that tell the truest story of your day.
