The dratted pandemic
Weddings in Victoria are a mess, and have been for nearly a year now. It's not easy to plan a wedding when the threat of lockdown is hanging over everything, but Melburnians are creative and smart and versatile.
Kelsey and Mitchell are such a couple, when a lockdown meant their original 2020 date couldn't go ahead as planned, they eloped in their loungeroom, without any of the trimmings or celebration, they became husband and wife, and they waited for the day they could celebrate properly with their family and friends, and waited and waited.

a year is a long time to wait
Particularly when you loveyour family and friends and celebrations are a huge part of your life. Kelsey and Mitchell were determined to make it worthwhile and to have memories that made them smile for years to come.
Unfortunately, their original Yarra Valley venue wasn't available on their chosen date (their first anniversary), and Kelsey was devastated, she'd always dreamed of photos surrounded by grape vines, and that had been a huge part of their original plans. There was a gorgeous Stella York wedding gown waiting to be worn, and it had POCKETS that needed to be shown off!
Images with Carol to the rescue, we found a private vineyard close to their new venue, Mawarra Functions, and approached the owners on their behalf. After explaining the situation, and assuring them that we understood vineyard protocol (I was born in the Hunter and lived in the Riverina for 20 years), they allowed us use of parts of their vineyard for photos - WIN!!! We are never JUST your photographer, we see an issue and we fix it. Your perfect wedding memories are our delight and our reason for being.

Then the party began
SO, even though Kelsey and Mitchell were technically renewing their vows, they still went with the celebrant who performed their loungeroom wedding and had a full ceremony, because, why not??? But of course, there were no nerves, and everyone was a little more relaxed, so much so, that when the best man suggested dancing the groom down the aisle, the grooms party ran with the idea, we LOVED it!!
