Love, Rain, and a Perfectly Chosen Yes
Hannah and Maxim knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding day—and just as importantly, what they didn’t. No big crowd. No rigid traditions. Just a handful of their closest people, surrounded by nature, with their beloved furbabies right there beside them.
They’ve always loved day trips along the Great Ocean Road, so turning one of those favourite places into a wedding experience felt like the most natural next step. Not just a ceremony, but a day to savour—slow, intentional, and full of meaning.
Plum Tree Cottages was the perfect fit. Tucked quietly away from the world, it offered peaceful surroundings, beautiful accommodation, and the sweetest little island connected by a picture-perfect bridge—an almost storybook setting for their vows.
Of course, weddings have a way of reminding us who’s really in charge. The weather forecast promised rain. But being prepared is part of caring for your couples, so umbrellas were packed and ready—just in case. And honestly? A little rain only added to the magic.
The ceremony itself was deeply emotional and wonderfully relaxed. When their two furbabies were reunited at the end of the aisle, you’d swear they’d been apart for months instead of minutes—pure joy, tails wagging, hearts full.
Hannah and Maxim exchanged vows, then sealed their written promises into a wine box alongside a vintage bottle from the year they met—something to open on their tenth anniversary. A future memory, waiting patiently to become a cherished past. We love traditions like this—the ones you create yourselves.
Afterward, champagne and cake on the verandah was the most civilised way to spend the afternoon. Laughter flowed, conversations lingered, and Maxim’s family joined in via phone from Holland—proof that love travels any distance.
This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a choice. A moment. A memory made exactly the right way.
