All about the puppers
Some weddings just stick with you—and Elena and Tom’s beautiful Bellarine celebration is one we’ll be smiling about for a long time. They first found us on Facebook after seeing a past wedding we photographed with beloved dogs in attendance. They knew straight away we’d get along. And they were absolutely right.
When they mentioned Harvester Moon as their venue, I may have squealed a little—okay, a lot. This gorgeous Bellarine spot has been on my bucket list for years, the staff are amazing and go over and above, the grounds are just gorgeous to wander through, and the interior *Chefs kiss* . I was so excited that we offered them a deal to make it all happen. Bellarine weddings have such a relaxed, loving vibe, and this one was pure magic from start to finish.
From the moment Chris and I arrived, we could see how much thought and heart went into the little details. I was completely charmed by all the touches of amethyst throughout the day—it’s my favourite semi-precious stone, and it added such an elegant, mystical energy. Tom’s amethyst pocket stone was a standout: classy, meaningful, and oh-so-unique.
While Chris spent time capturing moments with Tom and their adorable white puppy, I had the absolute honour of photographing Elena getting ready. Her excitement reached a whole new level when her father arrived with her childhood dog, who would be walking down the aisle beside her. That moment? Pure gold. And yes, I teared up. Who wouldn’t?
Tom waited at the end of the aisle with their furbaby by his side, while Elena walked in beaming, her dad on one side, her leash in the other hand. Their vows were deeply personal, full of laughter, and included tributes to both their pups—which even brought a rare tear to Chris’s eye. The group photo afterwards? Absolute chaos in the best way, as everyone tried to cuddle the dogs at once.
Later, in the golden light of the gardens, we got to capture quiet moments between just the two of them—tucked in their own little world of love, laughter, and wagging tails. A dreamy first dance, a cake that tasted as good as it looked, and a final wander under fairy lights and sunset skies wrapped the day up in perfection.
A week later, a handwritten thank-you card arrived in my mailbox. It’s now one of my most treasured keepsakes—reminding me once again why I love what I do.
