all the details
Another BEAUTIFUL wedding on the blog today. This incredible and down to earth couple are the sort of people that anyone would want to know. Friendly, open and very much in love with each other.
Cat and Mick were planning their wedding for over two years! They searched far and wide to find just the right people to make their dream day perfect, and we want to give a shout out to all of them, because it truly was amazing!
LOCATION: Ballarat Botanical Gardens, Wendouree
RECEPTION: Sebastapol Bowling Club
FLORIST: Styled Bouquet By Michelle
LIMOUSINE: Ballarat Limousines
WEDDING DRESS: Bendigo Bridal and Debutante
ATTENDANTS DRESSES: Ferrari Formal and Arabella and Rose
After meeting on a dating site nearly five years ago, Mick sneakily popped the question three years ago by gifting Cat an 'eternity' ring for Xmas 2017, and then sneakily changing his facebook status to 'engaged'. "I love you, SURPRISE" was his way of popping the question!
tears of joy
After spending the night apart, because 'Mick is a traditionalist', Cat and the girls got ready at a local hotel, where everyone was amazed at how calm she was. As she put it "with such great people around me, I had nothing to worry about". Although she was sad that her father couldn't attend, due to health issues, she included him in the day, arranging for a friend to put the ceremony on video for him, which he loves watching.
Mick is Irish, and wore the Irish national tartan, and Cat is Scottish, so it was only natural that a piper led her into the gardens, so EVERYONE knew there was a wedding happening! Walked down the aisle by her son, soon Cat was at Mick's side, and one look started his happy tears again.
Their beautiful ceremony was watched with smiles from everyone, family and friends had gathered under a beautiful old tree with chairs and blankets, ready to hear those magic words and watch the first kiss.
congratulations
After being swamped by family and friends wishing them well, it was off for a wander around the gardens to get some photos of the wedding party. Thanks to our regular communication and visits to the park, Chris and I knew exactly what the newlyweds wanted, and we not only got a LOT of photo memories for them, but we had a ton of fun on the way :>
Then it was off to the Sebastapol bowling club for one of the best club roast dinners I have had in a LONG time! Some more pictures of cake cutting and friends, and Chris and I left everyone to party all night long.
