Have Van, Will Travel
I'm getting ready to become a permanent Nomad. This amazing country has so much to offer, and I want to see it all!
To that end, I've purchased a twin cab ute and large caravan, and spent some time (and wads of money) getting them to the stage of taking small trips a few hours from home.
My first trip away was to Torquay, on the Great Ocean Road. I LOVE the feel of this gorgeous little town, and the beach is superb, and even better, I snagged a caravan berth RIGHT ON the beach, which made wandering down to capture the sunrise super easy.
I did NOT know that Torquay is famous for the colour of it's sunrises, WOWSERS! There was a line of photographers, ranging from tourists with phones through to serious professionals with awesome gear all lined up at various vantage points, and then the colour started.
I decided to leave the tripod down and practice some ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) techniques, something I have recently become obsessed with, and I am pretty happy with the results. After a while, I just stood and enjoyed the magnificent show that mother nature was putting on. If you click on the individual pictures, a larger version will open up.
When I finally decided to wander back up, I took one last look behind me, and though the colour was gone from the clouds, the view was still spectacular, so I snapped one final picture of the cliffs.
For those interested, my gear list for this set was as as follows
Sony A&III
Tamron 28-75 f2.8
K&F Variable ND Filter
