And it's a boy!
One of the most wonderful things about offering maternity photography is that I now photograph my favourite clients more often. I first met Natalie while I was still studying and she agreed to be one of my models. She was in my first exhibition, later I was fortunate enough to be able to capture her engagement to Chris and their gorgeous wedding, you can see those blog posts here and here.
To say that I was thrilled when they let me know they were expecting a baby is an incredible understatement, I was jumping around on the phone and screaming with joy! We decided, that as we hadn't been able to photograph their wedding at the Tim Neville Arboretum in Ferntree Gully, we would head there for this important photo session.
Armed with a suitcase of gowns from my studio wardrobe (that maternity suitcase is getting bigger and bigger!), and my trusty hair and makeup kit, along with the camera gear of course, I arrived at the happy parent's to be house and we started chatting about all the great times we had been involved in and how much they were looking forward to this new stage of their lives.
The best thing about this gorgeous 11 acre park is that there are so many different places to photograph. From secret gardens, through to open lawns, gorgeous windy paths and duck filled lakes, even an amphitheater. This meant that Natalie didn't have to do much walking to get a lot of different photos, which was a good thing, as she told me JUST as we headed home that she was pretty certain she was in the early stages of labour EEEEP!!! Sure enough, their gorgeous boy made his appearance less than 40 hours later!
Natalie chose to blend two of my plus size maternity gowns, absolutely proving that not only can blue and green be seen together, but that they look INCREDIBLE when you do so!
