tall dark and art studio
Today I have a very special boudoir blog post for you. It features Em, who I have been lucky enough to photograph before. They are a breathtaking and confident person who was an absolute pleasure to photograph. As you can see, we explored both Em's masculine and feminine sides and BOTH are extremely very easy to photograph.
We met up at my new home away from home, Tall dark and Art, in Highett. This gorgeous house has been completely converted to a private photo studio, with so many different moods and rooms, and it's perfect for what we wanted.
Em did her own hair and makeup, and kept it minimal to suit. She brought a number of outfits to achieve the looks she wanted, and they were terrific! I think our favourite was the hat, so versatile and jun to play with.
Advice from Em about having a photos session: Know what version of you you want to see. I had glamour shots done years and years ago and I styled myself so much that when I got the photos back they may as well have been on a stranger. Know what you’re comfortable with and where you draw the line and don’t be afraid to be clear on what those boundaries are. Pick outfits that make you feel the best – wearing something that you feel uncomfortable or embarrassed in tends to show through in the photos. And trust Carol – she knows her stuff!"
I am SO happy she had such a positive experience, and for the record, MY favourite is the laughing 'samurai', it's PURE joy!
